Homemade Lemonade. Homemade lemonade has to be one of my favorite drinks, and it couldn't be simpler to make.

You'll need: 1 3/4 cups of sugar // 8 cups of water // 2-3 lemons // boil 1 cup of water with 1 3/4 cups of sugar to make a simple syrup // allow syrup to cool //  squeeze the juice from 2-3 lemons...the amount of lemons used depends on your own personal taste buds...I personally like a lot of lemon...my kiddos like it mild. // mix lemon juice and 7 cups of cold water to the simple syrup and your done! // now you have fresh, all natural, no preservatives added lemonade.

note: This recipe is really, really, really sweet! I make mine a little on the sweet side b/c I like to add chilled sparkling water to my lemonade and I need that sweetness to keep it tasting good. Feel free to adjust the sugar amount or just add more water depending upon your preference.

Cost: about $1.00 a pitcher
