bothers.

I try to keep this little blog a mostly positive space...but today....maybe its because I am pregnant...or because its Monday....most likely it is because I am pregnant...I am going to give you a little list of things that have been bothering me lately.

Our country has gone complete health crazy...I get being healthy is good...I myself am on a kick to eliminate most processed foods from our diet. I think making healthy choices is great. It bothers me that it has become such a craze in school and in media that my seven year old questions whether or not her food is a healthy choice. It is not her job to be worried about food...it is mine...she is seven...I am sorry but in my opinion she shouldn't have a thought about any food she is eating.

Speaking of a healthy living...if everyone is so obsessed with this...it bothers me that I bought two bags of apples the other day....two bags on sale...and it cost almost $14! However if I wanted to purchase soda and a bag of donuts it would have cost me $2...something doesn't add up.

It bothers me that I went short shopping for my oldest daughter, the other day, and came home with nothing because all the shorts that were in her size had about an inch of material. That is barely enough to cover her butt cheeks...yes she is tall...but she is seven...she doesn't need to be walking around with her booty hanging out...at any age...let alone seven.

I love that movie channels like FX show kids movies...my love that they show kids movies...but it bothers me that they show scary or adult content commercials during those children movies...I mean really? It seems like common sense to not show horror movies previews during a showing of Shrek. I know that it is cable t.v. but seriously it is just a tad bit ridiculous.

It bothers me that a few months ago while eating at a buffet ...they were cleaning up the extra food...about to throw it away...when my husband asked if he could take the untouched food and donate it to a food shelter...I am talking fresh whole un-cut pizza, pasta, and deserts...the restaurant told him no he would have to pay for it all if he wanted to take it..and threw it in the trash instead. They just threw the food away...fresh hot...un-damaged food...just thrown away...while there are people starving all over the world...that really, really, really, bothered me.

ok...I think that is it for now...

Well, since misery likes company...please tell me something that is bothering you lately?

p.s. Since I have 16 more weeks to go and pregnancy  hormones are truly not my friend (that also bothers me) This post may make a few more appearances.

I am EMBARRASSED that I didn't know you were pregnant!!! I suck at life (and that bothers me).

Seriously though, all of your bothers are shared by me. Our world is twisted and has it's priorities all wonky.

It bothers me that we live in a world where we can communicate our feelings yet I still have relationships that I don't feel are honest.

And it bothers me that at a department store, because of the law employees cannot say anything to a man or woman if they go into the wrong dressing room, because that person might identify with that gender!

Listen, one of my favorite friends and i have a rule that we have to vent about everything that bothers us at least once a week. it's not "healthy" to keep that negativity in. also it gives us an opportunity to pray for each other in ways we otherwise wouldn't have know.

i agree with you on all these bothers.
i don't see what the harm in taking left over to be trashed food to a shelter would be? its not like you guys wanted something for free, you paid and ate…

have you look on j.crew//crew cuts for miss E? they usually have longer shorts. i don't understand what the fascination is with the short shorts for little girls is and why any retailer would sell them. Kids grow up too fast as it is.

i have a lot more to say about these things but, i'll end my short story here>

yeah i agree that it's sad that fresh healthy food is way more expensive than garbage food ugh. i try to buy fresh produce but it's pricy!

I am SO with you on each of these!!
I had the exact same problem with my Izzy when it came to shorts. Not ok.

And I totally see this in the U.S.! Junk food is EVERYWHERE, SO convenient and SO cheap. Eating healthy is $$$. So, so wrong. I would say we are minutely {very} better here. Just not as large so not as many unhealthy options avail...

I'm with you on the booty shorts for little girls. I don't have babies yet, but I was talking to one of my friends who was complaining that the bermuda length shorts were SO much more expensive than the short ones... and she was mad that it was so much more expensive to be modest!

i'm with you. clothing for little girls has gotten ridiculous. every year, buying clothes for school seems to get more and more difficult.
on the food, that really bothers me. seems like they prefer to throw it away than to give something away for free. either way they're not making profit on it. shows how heartless the world has gotten to be. :(

I really struggle to find good clothes too for my kids. It is really frustrating. Why can't we find clothes that aren't so "teenager-ish?" Kids should be able to be kids as long as possible with cute ruffles, cupcakes pictures and etc.....

I agree with all of these bothers, and I have no pregnancy-hormones! It's hard for kids to be kids these days!

Amen! Amen and amen to all of these! The whole good throwing away thing drives me nuts! Ridiculous. I am bothered that it is because of the government that restaurants cannot do that. I mean, people would happily accept that food. And while I'm on the topic...I would love for someone to show me how te affordable health care act is actually "affordable". Sheesh.
