snack time.

Ok, so here is the deal...I can't remember the last time I didn't feel even just a little bit tired. Oh wait yes I can, it was about 7 years ago....funny because my oldest daughter is 7.....hmmmmm? Don't get me wrong my kids are great sleepers, all through the night, they just have a massive amount of energy of which I am extremely jealous. With that said it is important for me to stayed fueled. The days of eating only Pizza Rolls, Cheez-its, and Dr. Pepper are long over.

It is also important for me to integrate healthy snacks for them through out the day.  They love sweets like cookies, fruit snacks, and other sugary treats...I mean who doesn't? I also know they love fresh fruit, cheeses, yogurt, and nuts. They are going to eat which ever I put in front of them...the treats or the good stuff. So guess what? I am going to offer them the good stuff....after all the last thing I really want to do is pour more sugar down their little throats and ultimately give them even more energy...and not good energy the kind that makes you cranky and then crash...ummm no thanks.

Today's post is sponsored by Alpine Lace.  If you visit Alpine Lace they are asking what is your recommended daily allowance of happiness...it is fun to fill out.

My daily allows of happiness comes from Jesus, coffee, quality time with my little family of five, sometimes more coffee, and just being in the present...soaking up the little moments this season in my life has to offer.

What do you need for daily happiness?
What are your go to snacks?

You know how I feel about cheez-its! Lol. But I do love healthy snacks too. Lately, my "go-tos" are apples, nuts and decaf tea! It would be cheese, but I am having to cut out dairy. :(

And my happiness is Jesus!, eliza :), family, friends, spring days and coffee.

These pics of your kiddos is great! I want that snack plate for sure!

coffee and jesus of course. but i extremely love that we make it a point to sit at the dinner table together every evening and talk about our days. last week my husband decided we need to go through proverbs with the boy and that has made our table time all the more special.

also come make my boys their afternoon snack. i think they'd just about anything with an umbrella tooth pick…why didn't i think of that.

I am so with you. Coffee and Jesus! It is so much easier when the kids are happy too. Snacks for us are usually finger foods. I admit I am giving them way too many animal crackers because they can feed themselves cleanly! But they have been going crazy for pepperonis and grapes and apples these days. I love how toddlers think fruit is just as great as candy!

Awww, look at the anticipation on those little faces. Isn't it funny that when you have to take care of yourself, it's whatever is easiest but then when it's someone else, all of a sudden, it takes on a whole new level of care

You are so creative with your snacking prep my friend.
I am with you though...sometimes, it's just laziness that leads me to give them something "easy" or unhealthy. And they will eat either!

Happiness = sleep. I just want sleep.
