Hurting people hurt... I have come to find this statement very true.

Have you ever been around a person who is hateful, bitter, or just plain mean?

I stopped taking offense to that personality a long time ago...next time you come across that type. Offer some kind encouraging words, do something nice for them, or simply ask how their life is going.

Kindness can go a long way...

"By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." John 13:35

Very interesting quote.
I often wonder what happened to people to make them so hateful.

You're right! Sometimes that's hard for me to remember. Thank you for speaking truth.

I was at one time one of those "hurting" people---mean at times and have a critical spirit. I can remember specific instances of people loving me in spite of it---and some of those moments will stick with me forever. Very special, and sweet moments---and I may not have acted like it at the time---but you are so right about how encouraging words can go a long way!

it's so hard to love difficult people. at least for me it is. i try to remind myself that we are called to love everyone, especially the mean and miserable. when we love with the love of Jesus, it sets us (believers) apart from the world. i think the world is desperate to know His love. great post!!!

absolutely... i wish people would see people that are unhappy/mean as an opportunity to make a difference in someone else's life... you may be the only person that ever tries. you really want to mess that up? i don't.
