I hadn't either, before this review.

I was very excited to learn and hear about FORMULATE when a member of the FORMULATE team reached out to me. She was so incredibly easy to work with, she answered all my questions, and was patient with me during a sickness, in my house, which delayed this post a bit.

The process to order my shampoo + conditioner was so unique! I took a quiz that asked me intense questions about my hair, style, and what I was wanting to achieve.

My biggest concern was oily hair. I'm an everyday hair washer. I CAN'T do the dry shampoo thing...trust me I've tried. My goal was to cut back the oil with out losing the shine + sleekness my hair naturally has.



I also spent a little time fretting over the smell of the shampoo! I'm super smell sensitive...so I was VERY close to just making this product with no fragrance at all. I ended up going with hibiscus...it did not disappoint...I literally smell like fresh flowers....mmmmmm.

This shampoo is sulfate free...so I was a bit concerned...about how this would lather and if my hair would feel clean! I've tried other sulfate shampoos in the past and I've quickly changed backed due to lack of clean feeling.

THIS WAS NOT THE CASE WITH FORMULATE!! The shampoo lathered up greatly! I have thick hair...so I need a shampoo that can handle scrubbing in between layers of hair.

I will say this, by day 3 of using the shampoo my hair felt a tad greasy. BUT according to usage per FORMULATE you need to give this shampoo at least a 6 day use in a row. This was the case for me. After I got over the hump of not using sulfate on my hair...my hair got in line!

Guess what?? I don't have to wash my hair every day! I went almost two full days (baby steps) in between washes...I've never been able to do that before! 

I'm sure you're wondering...what if I purchase this product and it doesn't work well with my hair??? FORMULATE lets you know that it can take 2-3 tries to get the right formula for you!
