Hiland Dairy is based out of my home town! I’ve adored this company for a long time. They make delicious, high quality dairy products. So needless to say...I jumped at the chance to team up with them (again!) and create a fabulous recipe and fun holiday craft to share with you.
My kiddos truly enjoy hot chocolate during the holidays. I don’t mind making this for them because they are getting added nutrients and protein...while getting to enjoy a yummy treat.
If you can believe it...I actually have a few family members who don’t like traditional hot chocolate...crazy...I know.
So I set out to create a white hot chocolate recipe that I knew they couldn’t turn down.
You’ll need:
4 cups of Hiland Dairy milk (your choice of percentage...organic...non organic)
1 cup of premium white chocolate chips (don’t skimp out on quality)
1 teaspoon of pure vanilla
1/2 cup of Half and Half (optional)
Whipped topping
First...place the milk and white chocolate chips in sauce pan. Cook over medium heat. SIMMER. DO NOT BOIL. Once all the chocolate chips have melted...add vanilla...and Half and Half. Heat for another minute or so and then remove from heat.
Serve in mug and top with whipped topping and enjoy!
But...wait! There’s more!
Don’t throw out your carton just yet.
Rinse and dry out your Hiland carton for a fun DIY!
You’ll need:
Empty milk carton(s)
Foam (big sheets are available at most craft stores)
Jewels
Poms
Stickers
Pipe cleaners
Basically any type of fun decor that would look nice on a gingerbread house.
Hot glue foam around the outside of the carton. Fold top down around the point...don’t worry if the top is messy looking...you won’t see it.
Create a roof out of foam.
Now the fun part...add a few doors...a few windows...and embellish away!
This is a great craft for a party...and gathering...perfect for the kids table during and holiday event.
The whole family will enjoy this.
Be sure to sip on your freshly made white hot chocolate while you enjoy a fun family craft this holiday season!
