Soap scum, it creeps in out of nowhere. I have a simple, affordable, and very time tested solution.

Hydrogen Peroxide.

Hydrogen Peroxide is my friend for many reasons...removing soap scum is the number one reason I love it so.

To treat soap scum you'll need:

a spray bottle
hydrogen peroxide
a good sponge - I stress a GOOD sponge.

NOTE: I used oceloTM No-Scratch Scrub Sponges...they offer a double sided sponge...one side for really getting the tough job done and the other side for the easier jobs. The best part about oceloTM No-Scratch Scrub Sponges, is that they don't scratch (hence the title). This is key if you are cleaning marble, tile, stone, or granite surfaces. I like the durability of oceloTM No-Scratch Scrub Sponges. I feel like I can put a little muscle into the chore at task with these sponges and they won't fall apart on me.

FIRST: locate the areas soap scum might build up. ON THE KITCHEN SINK ... think on the faucet, behind the faucet where the countertop meets the grout, under the top edge of the sink, around the drains. THEN: Mix in a spray bottle a solution of equal parts hydrogen peroxide and water. ( You could use straight Hydrogen peroxide if the job looks tough ) NEXT: spray your solution on the area of soap scum...watch the hydrogen peroxide go to work and bubble up! LAST: use your oceloTM No-Scratch Scrub Sponge and wipe away the bubbles. Use the soft side on the grout ( CAREFUL! too much scrubbing can cause grout to come up ). Use the non-scratch side and a little elbow grease to clean the sink and the drain. Finally, rinse with water and dry.

(my grout is tan NOT white...that is soap scum being removed)

( notice the color different between the drains) (eww.)

ALWAYS TEST YOUR SURFACE FIRST OR CONSULT MANUAL BEfORE USING HYDROGEN PEROXIDE.

The same, above, tutorial comes in handy when dealing with the shower. You can use the scrub side of the oceloTM No-Scratch Scrub Sponges to clean the tile and the softer side to clean the grout. Remember, be gentle on the grout.

Be sure to head to your local Target and pick up oceloTM No-Scratch Scrub Sponges! Target offers a 4 pack of sponges in teal, lemon, mango, and lime...you can pick the four pack up $3.99! What a deal!! The 2 pack option will cost you $2.39.

Currently, you can save $0.50 on one ocelo Scrub Sponge Multi-pack.

Also, available from AUG. 14th-20th...spend $50 in Target's cleaning department and you'll receive a $15 gift card to Target to spend at a later time. I love to get these little gift cards through out the year and set them aside for Christmas...last year I had almost $100 worth!

Great idea to use hydrogen peroxide. I always forget how versatile it is! #client
