1.) Crown Center : Walking around and enjoying Crown Center's shops and amenities is fun all by itself, add Christmas to the mix and there is something captivating about this area. A few events they offer that cost NOTHING include: visits with Santa, Mayor's Christmas Tree Lighting, Santa's Crayola Christmas Land, Meet the Snow Queen, North Pole Communication Center, and multiple music events.
2.) Union Station: Step back in time and get in the Christmas spirit with a trip to Union Station. Be sure to hit up the Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony, free to the public. Union station is also partnering with Project Warmth so bring a gently used coat or blanket, and receive up to two free tickets to the planetarium.
3.)Plaza lights: It doesn't really feel like Christmas if you don't visit the plaza at least once to view the lights. The 85th Plaza Lighting Ceremony begins at 5 pm on thanksgiving day. Also, enjoy good old fashion caroling every weekend in December.
4.) Zona Rosa: Zona Rosa also has a lighting ceremony. They offer free visits with the Fairy Princess and Santa. Please note: photos cost money and personal cameras can not be used during visit.
5.) Downtown Parkville: Parkville offers a fun way to kick off the Christmas season with Christmas on the River. This event offers holidays sounds from local choirs and fireworks!
6.) Bass Pro Shop: Bass Pro Shop puts on an amazing replica of Santa's Wonderland! Santa's wonderland offers crafts, color pages, and even a FREE 4X6 photo. Note: If you go on a weekend be prepared to wait sometimes up to two hours.
7.) Holiday Express Train: The annual Holiday Express Train roles into town December 18th-21st.
8.) Christmas in the Park at Longview Lake: Get ready to see a HUGE display of Christmas lights!The Park is open daily starting November 26th. Note: Go early to be the first ones in line and go during the week when it is less crowded. Weekends trips can involve up to a two hour wait.
9.) Whoville Holiday at the River Market: Enjoy a visit with the Grinch. Enjoy kid friendly activities and great photo opportunities. Whoville comes to life every Saturday leading up to Christmas 10:30 am - 1 pm.
10.) Local Light displays: Pauli's Penguin Playground, Christmas Card Lane, A Legendary Light Show.
What a great post! I'm always curious what there is to do in LA. Haha. Although we have a Bass Pro shop nearby. I wonder if they do the same thing? Thanks for sharing.
