Dear Elisabeth,

Today is your 7th birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, sweet girl!! I love you sooooooooo much. You bring so much joy to my life. At the age of seven you still like to stay up late and push the limits of bedtime...some nights while I am on the couch with daddy, and you have been in bed for a while, I hear the little pitter-patter of tiny feet and then I turn to see you standing there...red hair a hot wild mess, usually wearing princess pj's, eyes peering out from behind your beloved "bun-bun...with that look on your face...the look of just wanting to spend a little more time with mom and dad before the day ends. When this does happen, I usually just nod my head and lift up the blanket...you gladly snuggle right on up. I like those little moments, and I just want to soak them up.

Also, at the age of seven, you love gum. I mean LOVE gum...I blame dad for that. You are a fantastic sister. You have accepted the fact that you have to go to school everyday, and it has gotten much easier for you...you like learning and are doing very well...you just miss home. But I want you to remember that education is a privilege many girls don't have, and that intelligence is always beautiful. You fancy the color blue, swimming, princesses, "bun-bun", singing, mermaids, coloring, holidays, birthdays, skip days, and your family. You already have a heart for God. It makes my heart happy to see you choose  to worship the creator of all.

I pray for you daily. I pray that God would place a passion on your heart at a young age. I pray for Godly friends. I pray that you always stay close with your siblings....because friends will come and go...but siblings stay. I pray that you would be you, bravely...and that if you can be anything, be kind.

Happy birthday, beautiful! I can't wait to spend the day with you! I am so happy Jesus gave me you. Love you bunches.
