Jude and Wipeout ...

obsessed is defined as the following: to dominate or preoccupy the thoughts, feelings, or desires of (a person); beset, trouble, or haunt persistently or abnormally:

Jude is way beyond the point of obsession with his love for all things wipeout

He plays Wipeout on the Kinect, and then watches Wipeout on T.V. When all his T.V. and game time are used up he continues to build Wipeout zones with his blocks. He pretends the square tiles  in stores are Wipeout levels. All furniture and beds are Wipeout obstacle courses...

Last week he thought I was leaving him home alone to watch Wipeout, while I took Elisabeth to school. I had to look him in the eyes and explain to him that he was being left in the house with a supervising adult ... that the hubs was home ... and that I was NOT leaving him home by himself t the age of 3...

A few nights ago the hubs told Jude before bedtime:

"hey buddy! I recorded new episodes of Wipeout for you! You can watch one tomorrow!"

Jude is normally a solid sleeper, he never wakes up in the middle of the night. However after the hubs told him he had new shows to watch he proceeded to wake me up at 12am, 2:30 am, and 5:30 am asking me "if it was time to watch Wipeout yet?" I very nicely (insert sarcasm) explained to him that if woke me up again and ask to watch Wipeout and the sun was not "awake" yet ... that he would never watch Wipeout. again. ever.

It worked. He slept till dawn, and then enjoyed a cup of chocolate milk, while relaxing on the couch by the fire watching the Christmas episode of Wipeout.

He may or may not be having a Wipeout birthday party :)

Is there anything your kiddos are obsessed with?

My sons love watching that show too! I'm thankful they are not waking us early in the morning to watch it, though!

Ha! That's like Christmas morning style behavior!!

My daughter is like that with any new princess cartoon on Disney Jr. Sofia the 1st is a hit over here.

She'll call throughout the house (to her two brother no less) "Guys!!! GUYS!!! Sofia the 1st is on, hurry!!" then proceed to explain the plot line...because she's already seen it like 5 times. ;)

I love that reference to the sun being awake ... totally using that the next time The Boy interrupts my sleep without just cause!

Obsessions?! Yes. Me buying him Minecraft (we don't even own a gaming system). Oh, boys!
