The hubs and I were discussing why we love music so much, good music, the other day. We were talking about how a good song can lift your spirits, take you to a memory, and overall make you feel good.
We got to talking about why is that? Why does music make you feel good?

The answer is simple we were made to worship. made to worship a present and living god.

For me...worship sets the tone for my attitude for service, worship works deep,it causes my spirit to stir. I never want to go through the motions during worship, b/c God doesn't want that, he wants me, wholeheartedly.

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! psalm 95:1

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.   colossians 3:16

Next time your in worship go to him wholehearted with a spirit of thanksgiving, surrender to him, I know I will.
I love to shout you name oh lord! /// I will not allow a rock to cry out in my place.

what are your thoughts or questions about praise and worship music? do you enjoy it?

What a great post to start my day off with. Thank you so much for posting this. My husband and I find it easy to get caught up in the idea that "worship" is just the 5 songs we sing before church starts, and if it's not good enough for our ears it wasn't worship-worthy. Thank you for the reminder!

I love the artist Sara Groves...she is more than a singer...she is a poet. Good stuff.

I absolutely love singing my prayers and the hymns in church, even though I’m always off-key and the power of each song ALWAYS chokes me up.

I’m not kidding ... it’s a problem.

aw yes. such good thoughts.

and even if i don't particularly care for the song, i still try to have a good attitude...i realize it's not all about me and my preferences of music. it's all about HIM. And he deserves my worship regardless of the song choice!

Oh let me tell you---I most certainly DO enjoy it. And I have probably the worst voice ever---haha--but I belt it out. You think people around me at church hate it? Ha. Okay, so hoping its not that bad-- but it does immediately lift my mood. And I love Sarah Groves--great choice!

LOVE that first quote! Worshipping and attending church is definitely one of my favorite things to do.

I think I'm wanting something a little more than just fonts for my blog. :)

max lucedo says. "worship is the highest occupation of any man." yes, we were made to be worshipers!
i heard someone say once "praise is who i am, praise is what i do." i resonate with that, and is what i want to be true of me.
