Hubs told me a story his dad used to tell in church the other day...
Think of a boxer...all cut & beaten down...after a long a grueling match, he wins. With his battered & tired body he goes home. Walks in and hands his winnings over to his wife. She hasn't done a thing...she has no cuts...she hasn't even taken a beating...but she still gets to share & enjoy his winnings....his hard work...she benefits from his battle.
The same thing goes for Christ. He has beaten the ultimate fighting match for us. He has taken on the pain and handed over all his winnings...all we have to do is accept it.

"But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed" Isaiah 53:5
Ooooo GREAT analogy! I really love it, and it helps make something so uncomprehensible, plain and clear.
love the analogy.
I love this!!!
Thanks for sharing :-)
That is true, when you are with someone you are a part of the team & you will always benefit from their success. Or also feel their disappointment.
What a great reminder
That is so true, Christina!! I love analogies like this. XO
what a beautiful and true metaphor about the love of CHrist!
this is an incredibly lovely story :) thank you so much for sharing and brightening my day! xoxoxo brynn
I love when people are creative and can put the gospel into words that are easier to understand, I know that may sound silly but I myself have difficulty understanding certain scriptures, so I always love these little stories. :0)
:) I love that, thanks for the little reminder of Christ's love for us :)
