Hubs and I usually host a BIG 4th of July party...lots of food, fireworks, music and fun. This year we won't...I am a little sad...but we went on vacation instead, so I think that is a fair trade off : Plus we need a little break, last year hubs had to repaint a few walls b/c there were BBQ hands prints all over them...poor hubs.

If your planning on hosting, mason jars are such a great & cheap way to decorate! I used mason jars, scrap ribbon, and star garland to decorate...tie a spoon around the jar and you have the perfect shaved ice or desert holder.

I also love using paper poms to decorate with, they are cheap and easy.

This is an adorable idea.

Another cute and easy decor idea from makoodle.

easy & cute idea for kids.

Be sure to click HERE for a tutorial on how to make sparkler messages!...worth checking out

What are your plans for the 4th, are you the hostess or the guest?

Living near DC for a patriotic holiday is super easy - we usually just head up to the city and see what we can find because you're going to find a lot to do!

So many good decorations for the 4th! I obviously won't be partaking in making anything this year but hopefully I can get a little festive next summer!

Hostess. My parents are coming up. We don't have a grill though...so meal planning has been difficult!

Super cute patriotic ideas! We might host...it's still up in the air. Vacation will be way more fun than painting walls!! LOL!

Love all the super cute ideas! We had a huge birthday celebration this weekend instead of 4th of July party.... My granddaughters 1st birthday! Our family all serve in full time ministry.. My husband, my son- n-law, his parents, and two sets of the great grand parents... So getting together as a family can be challenging at times! But my daughter realized how awesome the Lord Is in the fact all three of her kids are born around holidays when we are usually together anyways!! Thanksgiving, 4th of July and a grandson due right around Labor Day! God is so amazing in how He cares about every detail in our life:)
I pray your sweet family has a wonderful vacation!
