Happy Mother's Day!

I have had the joy and privilege of being a mom for over 4 years now,
here are a few things I have learned.

*****************************************************
  • Pre-children don't ever be the person who says: "My child will never _______ (fill in the blank)" because mostly your child will end up doing just that.
  • I will not feel guilty about allowing my kids to watch t.v. ...they are not in school and they are awake on average 14 hours out of the day.
  • Parenting is truly the art of distraction... distracting them out of a fit, distracting them away from the toy isle, away for the soda isle, away from the candy isle...distracting them so they don't cry or talk during church.
  • I am so happy both my kids love books.
  • I used to really read food labels, now if it contains any amount of vitamin C it is edible, regardless of the sugar content :)
  • I will never be okay with vomit.
  • Little boys will pee on you, and little girls will color for hours.
  • I have become an expert at fishing out small objects from tiny mouths
  • My kids don't look like me, at all.
  • Coffee is now a major food group in my life.
  • I dread kindergarten, I dread college, and I dread the day they will move out forever.
  • Sometimes I find my self watching the end of a cartoon or kids show, even when there are no longer children in the room.
  • I pray daily for their lives and thank God for the blessings he has given me.
  • I have learned never to ask people when they are going to have babies, you might not really know how painful that question can be.
  • My kids only get one childhood and it is my job to make sure it is a good one filled with love, a million hugs a day, and tons of sticky faced kisses.

Clicked over from Casey's, and it's fun for me to get to see so many fun blogs I haven't been to before!

I must say that I also agree with coffee being a major food group, and I love what you say about reading labels.

Nice "meeting" you!

Love all of these.

Yes to never saying, "My kid won't do that!" Even worse? "I'll never do that when I'm a mom!"
Yes to dreading kinder, college, and... oh I don't even want to go there.
Yes to tv sometimes.
Yes to praying.
Yes to coffee. Double yes.
