Can we chat about carpets for a minute?
I don't care for carpet. The main level of our house is all wood floors. The upstairs however is aaaalllll carpet. Carpet is really a must for bedrooms that house small children...it is softer to play on...more comfortable to sit on...you get the picture.
Our carpet is about 5 years old and hasn't been professionally cleaned once. gross. That is 5 years of traffic, dog hair, spills, messes, and living. It was time to get these cleaned!
I got the chance to test out the BISSELL Big Green and compare it to the Rug Doctor. The BISSELL Big Green blows the competition away!!
The biggest difference being...the separate dirty water and clean water container. I loved how clean my carpets looked and felt after using the Big Green!!!
BISSELL Big Green PRO'S:
significantly cheaper than having a professional cleaning service, significantly.
it took about 1 hour or so to clean four bedrooms, a hallway, and stairs.
you can see the dirt being removed from you floor in the dirty water bin (see above photo)
Big Green was cheaper to rent than the Rug Doctor
The rental insurance was $50 for the Rug Doctor and only $20 for the Bug Green (both are refunded)
The Big Green was nicer and cleaner...the Rug Doctor machine smelled.
CON's:
I can really only think of one...and it applies to both...the machines are a tad bit on the heavy side to lift in and out of a car...but i'm on the weak side sooooooooo...it could have just been me.
